The UC College Democrats support the following important issues!

Supporting the Troops: America voted in 2006 to end the Bush administration's reckless war in Iraq. Bush vetoed more supplies for the troops, better healthcare for veterans, and denied a withdrawal from the mess in Iraq. The Democrats stand for a new direction.

Education: The Republicans have neglected the needs of students and education. Democrats believe an affordable college education is a right, not a privilege. Democrats stand for lowering the cost of tuition and increasing federal and state financial aid.

The Environment: The Democratic Party believes every American has the right to clean air and safe food. Investing in new, green technology is the strongest way to end American dependence on foreign oil, reduce harmful emissions, and further combat the threat of global climate change.

Poverty: 50 million Americans lack health coverage. 40 million Americans live in poverty. The Democratic Party stands for an economic policy that favors the working American, a policy that does not help only the wealthiest 2% of the population. The Democrats fight for economic justice in America, will you?

Jobs and Outsourcing: Republican economic policy has made American jobs our number one export. The Democrats proudly stand for job security, union labor organization, and tax incentives for patriotic companies to ensure strong economic growth and jobs for everyone.

Electing Democrats: Our goal is to rally behind Patriotic Democrats who support these ideals. We have successfully aided in the elections of Governor Ted Strickland and Senator Sherrod Brown.
